Ensenada de Los Muertos has a small outdoor restaurant and a developer is starting a huge subdivision here. They've renamed it "Bay of Dreams" because the marketing department apparently didn't like the name that translated to Deadmen's Cove. Guess that wouldn't look too good on the brochures. It's a really nice spot if you block out the sound of a bulldozer or two during the day. The cove is about ten miles from the nearest town, so there's no place to buy anything. We've been to the restaurant three times for appetizers and drinks-since we're out of beer and getting low on food. The restaurant is pretty good.
Three pictures from the Giggling Marlin, since we went there three times.
The local fishermen head out in their pangas around dawn and are usually back by noon with the days catch. They fillet the fish right on the beach and leave the scraps on the sand for the birds. Luna and Tiki are having a great time snacking on fresh tuna and momentarily chasing away the turkey buzzards, pelicans and gulls. There seems to be plenty of food for all, but none goes to waste.
The water is clear and warm. We can see the bottom 25 feet below the boat. There are zillions of fish and birds. We've been swimming just about every day, some days twice or more.

Mexico is such a cool place. For one thing, everyone knows what my name means – Moon. The kids think it’s neat that I have a Spanish name. Actually it’s short for Lunatic, but they don’t need to know that. The other cool thing is that dogs can go just about everywhere. Practically every restaurant has outdoor seating. A lot of them don’t even have an “inside”, just a wall or two with a roof, maybe. So we go everywhere with the people we live with. Sometimes Ray will stay with us when Diane goes into a store. But we are with our people just about 24/7, which is very fun. Lots of stuff is going on all the time. Also, in the rural places like Bahia Santa Maria, Los Frailes and Los Muertos we didn’t need leashes at all. Days of walkeez with no leashes. Very nice!! Tiki and I are really good about staying close to Ray and Diane, since they always feed us, so we get to run around a lot if we aren’t near any paved roads.
